Throughout this term we will be posting short book reviews to each other via this page on our wiki. This is to encourage each other to read more and recommend books to people in our class - we all know that finding a good book can sometimes be challenging with so many choices in a library! Generally we will be recommending books for people who are close to our age however sometimes we will suggest our favourite books for different groups of people (eg. Favourite picture book for our buddy class). If you have any favourite books we would love to hear from you also!
To make a post you need to click 'edit this page' at the top of the BOOKWORMS page. Then you start your review on a new line (put a space between entries to make them easier to read). Start with the title of the book and then put the authors name in brackets. Write a short summary of the book (making sure not to give too much away) and then make any suggestions as to who might like this read. Its a good book to read with your parents.

Millions (Frank Cottrell Boyce) It is about a 7-year old boy called Damian who moves to the suburbs of Wilderness after the death of his mother.
He finds a bag filled with a million pounds.
His older brother Anthony is greedy and wants to spend the money for himself. The Bank of England is changing the pounds to the euro (fictional) realising the money (in pounds) will be worthless in a few days Damian decides he wants to give all the money to the poor.
Damian is visited by visions of saints (he is obsessed with them) that tell him what is wise to do.
I liked this book because it had a lot of suspense. I also liked the characters and saints.
I recommend this book to ages 8-12.
The Fairy House ( Kelly Mckain )
It is about three faries and one human. Katie the human has just move. She has no normal friends she got fairy friends. The three faries are Daisy, Rosehip, Snowdrop, Bluebell. The faries help the King and Queen. I recommend this book to fariytale lovers By Georgia
Flanimals The Day of the Bletchling (Ricky Gervais) This is a book about made up creatures that have migrated from all over the universe. All the creatures have a war and get wiped out from existence. Some Flanimals are a Bant which is a blue ant with very small wings and if it doesn't work hard enough it's head falls off. A Bletching is a fly like creature it has a really long tongue and has a goo valve that squirts out burning goo and it has 8 eyes. I recommend this book to imaginative people who like the bizarre. This is a story about a 10 year old boy (Peter) and his annoying little brother (Fudge) who is 3. It is a funny book and is quite easy to read. I liked it because Fudge gets into lots of trouble. In one chapter he tries to be a bird and fly off the playground.
