My book report
Title:Kaimanawi Princess
Author:Dianne Haworth
About: A Girl called Becky, who buys two kaimanawa horses (wild horses).She names them Princess and Queenie.
She soon realises that it is going to be hard to train them, so she calls Bill Worth, a horse wisperer. He Successed in training them and Princess becomes the local champion.The goverment is planning to kill the kaimanawa breed. It is up to Becky to save them. With the help of Princess, she makes a petion for the horses. everyome signs it so the judges have to call it of.
I recomend this book for: moderatly good readers and horse lovers.
EOTC Week
On Monday, all the year five classes went to Waiatarua reserve to do orienteering. We had to walk round with a map pin- pointing a marker. When we find it we clip a certain box on a slip of paper with a certain pattern. The fun part is locating your self (or the marker) on the map. The lowlight was how tiring it was running around. A challenge was finding them because they were well hidden. It was challenging but heaps of fun!
On Tuesday we stayed at school because some people had zone swimming so we had a games day at school. My favourite game was the "dead ant " game. My least favourite was the game Max Gurr was running because it got a bit boring. My challenge was the game Miss Bryant was doing. It was when we had to remember a few instructions That Miss B gave us and complete 5-7 stages, but it was still lots of fun! That day was awsome!
On Wednsday we took the bus to the wave pools and had a swim. I went on the hydro-slide heaps but I didn't get to jump into the water. The most fun part was when the waves came they whisked us up and down. The not so fun bit was that I couldn't stand when the waves came so I had use a noodle. The challenge was diving to bottem in the deep area. It was one of the BEST days!
On Thursday we went to skate land. It was really fun skating round and round the rink on wheels! we had a race between the rm14 girls. I won! It's very tiring skating. The worst part was falling over. A challange was to skate in between cones and not touch them.
The last day was tree adventures. you had to clip your carabiners to a safty line and do an obstacle in the trees. The awsome bit was swinging on the tarzan swing or doing the flying fox at the ends. The bad part was when we had to take a break for lunch. The Challange then was going up high because I'm afraid of hights. I was the BEST day EVER!!!!!
